Green Periods?!!!

Sooo as you may have guessed this is a Woman's topic!!! .... Reader Beware!!!

I found out about reusable menstrual products by total accident, (this is not something i thought of) I will admit it did sound intriguing. So here it goes.. there is a medical grade silicone cup, the most popular in the U.S. is the Diva Cup, (I got the Lunette, mainly because it was smaller). When reading all the benefits it sounds like a GREAT Idea, and believe me i read up on these suckers. The cup goes in similar to a tampon and the rim sits on the cervics walls and suctions there and collects all your flow, you can leave it in for up to 12 hours, then when time to take the cup out you just give it a little squeeze to unsucction the cup dump the flow into the toilet, rinse and reinstert! It sounds like a piece of cake.. but... Duhn, Duhn, Duhn!!! This was not my case, I found it to be Quite a Royal pain in the You know what!!! It did work and i had no leaking!!! But finding the rite fold for me to insert was a chore and then when time to put it in was a bit painful but once you get used to it it goes a little better, I lasted the weekend, got tired of the thing and decided to give it a rest until my next period, and went back to my seventh Generation Tampons, (which by the way will Rock Your Socks!!)  It really is a great product.. it Saves a ton of money, the initial investment is about 25 bucks if you buy off Amazon!!!. Since it doesnt absorb you cant get TSS!! (this was a main factor for me) you can use your cup up to ten years, but really just depends on you!!! I will give it another try but for now I am done with it for awhile, Every one says it takes some getting used to, My sister loves her Diva Cup!! Try it and see how you like it, I will let you know how my next one Goes!!!

REUSABLE BAGS!!!

I am SOOOO excited i found some great reusable shopping bags at the dollar store (talk about good deal) they are made from organic materials and are just the right size I LOVE THEM!! I do not love the store clerks however that act like it is such a huge inconvinence to use these bags instead of their stupid plastic bags. The lady at walmart set them on top of the rounder put  one or two things in each bag and then put all the other stuff in the plastic, i proceeded to unbag them and put everything into two of the four bags i gave her without over stuffing and had plenty of room in the bags for more!!!

My next adventure in reusable bags is going to be snack/sandwich bags I am working on making some, I may need to purchase a few on etsy to figure it out though! I will keep you updated on how this goes!!

FIRST POST!!!

So as you all know this is a blog about going green; and ETSY is a great place to do it! Did you know that they make reusable sandwich bags, along with tons of other great products and they are HANDMADE!!! not to mention you can find local sellers? I absoloutly love it.
